A business that filed with the state last week is going to get mail. That is a fact of public records, not something we invented. What we can do is make sure the people who use this list are the ones the new owner is glad to hear from. So these rules are part of the deal, not a suggestion. Break them and we close the account and refund nothing.
One letter, one visit, or one call per business in any 90-day window. No sequences, no "just following up" cadences. If they want to talk, they will.
Your real name, your real business, and what you sell — in the first sentence of a letter and the first ten seconds of a call. No "important notice regarding your new LLC," no envelopes designed to look like they came from the state. The Virginia SCC does not send marketing, and you are not the SCC.
Direct mail and an in-person visit are what this list is for. No robocalls, no SMS blasts, no mass email to addresses you found on their website. If you call, you are responsible for the TCPA; if you email, for CAN-SPAM. We publish a phone or email only when the business itself put it on its own website, and only so you can reach them the way they asked to be reached.
Any business can remove itself at /optout and it disappears from your feed and exports the same minute. If you already exported the row, you have 7 days to stop. A business that tells you directly to stop is stopped that day, whether or not they used our form.
This list stays what it is: public filings plus what a business publishes about itself. You may not append purchased consumer data, phone-append services, or scraped social profiles to rows from Fresh Filings, and you may not resell or share the rows outside your own business.
Not a rule we can enforce, but the one that works. The subscribers who last are the ones whose first letter is useful on its own — a checklist, a deadline they should know about, an honest price. Ask yourself whether the owner would keep the letter if they never called you.
Every listed business can look itself up and remove itself, no login, no questions, at /optout. Every row links to its SCC record so nothing is hidden. We do not add consumer data, we do not buy lists, and we tell every business on the free weekly page exactly who we are and how to reach us.
